ETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES AT JAKOBSEN TRANSPORT

Ethical business conduct is rapidly evolving across Europe. In Norway, the Transparency Act came into force in July 2022, requiring larger companies to carry out due diligence assessments throughout their entire supply chain to identify, prevent, and report risks related to human rights violations and unacceptable working conditions.

Based on the OECD Guidelines, these companies must evaluate human rights and decent working conditions across all suppliers to ensure responsible employment practices at every level.

Jakobsen Transport is a smaller company and not directly covered by the Transparency Act. However, as a subcontractor to several larger enterprises, we are indirectly affected by the new requirements.

Over the past years, we have strengthened our work on quality, safety, and the environment. We are now certified as Fair Transport and Eco-Lighthouse, in addition to ISO 9001 (quality management) and ISO 14001 (environmental management).

Together, these certifications provide a clear and structured foundation for further developing our HSE and sustainability efforts.
